What do I do?
One question sits at the centre of my work: why is this system not behaving the way it should? I look for the answer by measuring. The cause of a slow query, a backup you cannot restore from or a cloud bill that keeps growing is not found by guessing.
Two lines of work run under DMC Bilgi Teknolojileri, the company I founded. The first is consulting: performance, high availability, cloud migration and version upgrades in enterprise environments. The second is building products. SentinelDB360 is a monitoring, security and compliance platform for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB. Recent years have leaned towards AI: I build the layer that interprets the health and security findings collected from a database and feeds capacity planning.

Writing
The SQL Server 2025 developer book is bilingual and free, with examples verified on a live environment. I have also been writing on this site since 2013.
What do I write about here?
The first article is dated 1 March 2013 and the latest is 4 September 2026. There are 272 in between and none of them was written for money. Most came out of chasing down a problem I ran into in a customer environment that week.

Frequently asked questions
What does Microsoft MVP mean?
MVP is an annual award Microsoft gives to independent experts who contribute to the technology community. It does not mean working for Microsoft, and it is reviewed every year. I have received it six times in the Data Platform category and the title is currently active.
Which databases do you work with?
Most of the weight is on SQL Server. Alongside it, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB are in scope. That is why the open source diagnostic set covers all four engines.
Where do you work?
The head office is in Eyupsultan, Istanbul, and the R and D office is at Duzce University Technopark. Most consulting work runs remotely.
Can I use the code from your articles?
You can. The open source repositories are MIT licensed. Feel free to try the examples from the articles in your own environment, but run them in a test environment first.
How do I reach you?
